Why is MINDFUL Breathing so important?

Mindful breathing reduces anxiety!

Hundreds of people suffer from anxiety on a daily basis.  We worry about things outside of our control, which leads to more stress and anxiety.

Slow, mindful breathing can help to fight these feelings.

• Short, shallow breaths trigger the mind to feel like it’s in danger; it’s part of the fight or flight instinct.  Deep breathing means the body is relaxed and we can think clearly. This can put you at ease and reduce the amount of anxiety one feels.

• A long, slow, deep inhale, followed by a pause... and a long exhalation, tells the nervous system to calm down.

• If you struggle with anxiety, taking a few moments throughout the day to practice deep, mindful breathing exercises can be helpful.
